The National Silk Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC401) is a non-legal entity technical organization approved by the National Standardization Management Committee to engage in the formulation, technical review, and centralized management of national and industry standards in the professional field of silk in China. In accordance with relevant regulations of the National Standards Committee, it is mainly responsible for the formulation, revision, and centralized management of national and industry standards in areas such as silk yarn, silk textiles, and silk products in the silk industry of China.
The Secretariat of the National Silk Standardization Technical Committee is currently located in Zhejiang Silk Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CATHAYA Group. The national standard GB/T 24252-2009 "Silk Quilts" under its jurisdiction received the Second Prize for Technological Advancement by China National Textile and Apparel Council in 2012. In the National Standard Committee's evaluation of national technical committees in 2017, it achieved the highest level of "Level One" committee. The internationally developed ISO 15625:2014 "Silk - Testing methods for defects and filament characteristics" received the Second Prize for Technological Advancement by China National Textile and Apparel Council in 2019.
